The Centre for Cyber Operations and Security (CenCOPS), inaugurated in December 2023 in Chandigarh, stands as India’s first integrated cybercrime response and investigative hub. Launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, this ₹88 crore initiative is housed within the Indian Air Force’s Heritage Centre in Sector 18. CenCOPS is equipped with advanced capabilities such as facial recognition, AI-driven data analytics, predictive policing, and digital forensics, aiming to bolster national cybersecurity defenses.
